Training + Conditioning

Horses in training are immersed in a program catered to the horse's natural talents and a focus on overall health and conditioning from the inside out is paramount.

It is not a one-size-fits-all operation.

Advanced ground work techniques are employed and horses are first and foremost taught to use themselves over the top line in a loose and forward way of going to build a solid foundation for their specialized discipline.

full training

Full training includes weekly lessons and five days a week of work which will include a combination of riding, ground work/gymnastic lunge line exercises/long lining and swimming/conditioning as necessary for the horses proper development.

COnditioning programs

Conditioning is designed for the maintenance of a well trained show horse, rehab horses or a lesser intense program. It includes three days a week of work and two lessons per month.

Owners who prefer a less concentrated approach to starting their horse - such as warmbloods or slower maturing breeds may enter into a conditioning/immersion program to put some time on the young horse before the under saddle process begins.

sales preparation and halter breaking

Conditioning for sales horses is designed to maintain proper muscling and grooming and presentation while being marketed and not necessarily shown. It is also a great start for a young horse being prepared for a sale such as the NCHA or NRCHA yearling sales.

Included can be basic halter breaking and handling, where young prospects will learn to lead, lunge and tie.

colt starting

Starting the horse is the most important part of the horse's under saddle career, and it is something that is taken very seriously. A 90 day program at a minimum is always recommended to get a proper foundation started, but 30 and 60 day assessment options are also available.

We work in conjunction with top vets, dentists, farriers and chiropractors to make sure all is physically functioning as it should to ensure no unneeded stress is on your prospect. Horses are started slowly and properly to create a sound, supple and willing athlete.

Honesty and communication are paramount throughout the starting process. We work with the owner to make sure the horse is a right fit and we are doing what is best for the horse's well being and the owner's goals and budget.

Rehabilitation

A custom schedule, typically two days per week or a daily handling program can be designed depending on the specific horse's care requirements.
