Claire Pelton on her teaching methods:
"I like to take a calm, attentive approach to teaching... I look at the rider as part of a horse and rider team: a bad rider on a perfect horse won't be successful, just as a good rider on an uruly horse won't. Both the horse and rider need training and maintenance to bring out the optimal athlete.
I provide both in a productive, composed environment"
While our focus is on the Arabian show horse, we offer training and lessons in all breeds and disciplines. Claire travels to select local open shows and happily attends other breed specific circuits.

We also offer 90 day colt-starting programs to ensure your young horse gets started properly and that you as the owner have all the tools necessary to enjoy your horse safely at home. A Bandit's Wish I Am

Claire's first official lesson was at the age of five at Bentley Stables in Suffolk, England. Since then, she has worked in numerous aspects of the business, ranging from training retired racehorses to producing national champion Norwegian Fjords. She has been active on the Arabian breed show circuit since 1996 and has been successful in most major disciplines including; Hunter, Western, English (Saddle Seat), Show Hack, Halter, Native Costume and English Side Saddle.
Gaining experience by working for many top trainers in the horse community and continuing working relationships with these professionals keeps her training ideas cutting edge. Claire continues to work with both local Arabian and Quarter Horse trainers. Often Claire will bring in outside colleagues to help broaden her student's horizons.
Claire also donates time to teaching local horse owners proper horse care and safety techniques. Through the non-profit club, Fallbrook Silver Spurs, she stays tied to the community, producing award winning parade floats (Fallbrook Christmas Parade, 2007) and providing low cost clinics in areas from Western Pleasure and trail training to proper trailer operation.
Claire's favorite aspect of training is working with children and young adults, where she believes riding and showing become much more than a hobby.
"Not only am I teaching kids to ride and train their own horses, but I am teaching them confidence, respect, integrity and perseverance. These are all qualities that will help them in every aspect of life. I am a role model and mentor to my client's children and that is a position in life that I take very seriously."
